▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - The photodetector (11) includes a graphene film (15) that is in contact with a first end of an array of metallic nanopillars (36) e.g. nanowire, single-wired nanotube, multi-walled nanotube. The resulting contact is configured to form an intrinsic field region in the graphene film. The apparatus is configured to generate a photocurrent from a photogenerated charge carrier in the intrinsic field region. The nanopillar is comprised from at least one of gold, platinum, palladium, and nickel. USE - Photodetector for use with common devices. Uses include, but are not limited to, remote controls, TVs, digital versatile disk (DVD) players, cameras. ADVANTAGE - The graphene layer absorbs little of the radiation impinging upon the photodetector, with the nanopillars providing an efficient light-trapping structure. Enhances absorption of photons in the graphene layer as a result of the contact between the nanopillar array and the graphene layer. The photodetector is capable of detecting radiation over a wide wavelength spectrum. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for converting photon energy into electrical energy. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows the schematic structural diagram of the photodetector. Photodetector (11) Graphene film (15) Substrate (31) Insulating oxide layer (32) Nanopillars (36)
