NOVELTY - Graphene composite fiber comprises a metal oxide plating layer formed on at least a portion of the graphene fiber. The graphene fiber is a liquid crystal fiber. The metal oxide of metal oxide plating layer includes alkali metal, alkaline earth metals, transition metal, post-transition metal and/or metalloid. The graphene fiber further comprises carbon nanotubes, boron nitride and/or transition metal dicalcogenide (I). USE - The composite fiber is useful in various devices in form of conductive fiber. ADVANTAGE - The composite fiber has excellent physical properties including electrical characteristics and capacitor characteristics by improving electrochemical properties including non-discharge capacity and discharge time, and improves performance of device. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Graphene composite fiber comprises a metal oxide plating layer formed on at least a portion of the graphene fiber. The graphene fiber is a liquid crystal fiber. The metal oxide of metal oxide plating layer includes alkali metal, alkaline earth metals, transition metal, post-transition metal and/or metalloid. The graphene fiber further comprises carbon nanotubes, boron nitride and/or transition metal dicalcogenide of formula (M1E12) (I). M = Au, Ag, Fe, Cu, Ni or Co; and E1 = S, Se or Te. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing graphene composite fiber, comprising (a) producing graphene fibers, and (b) forming a metal oxide plating layer on at least a part of the surface of the graphene fiber, where the step (b) comprises electroplating the metal hydroxide on at least a portion of the graphene fibers by immersing the graphene fibers in a plating solution, and calcining the metal hydroxide-coated graphene fibers under air atmosphere at 100-900 degrees C to form a metal oxide, or electroplating a metal hydroxide on the heat-treated graphene fibers, and the step (a) comprises heat treating the reduced graphene fibers by performing first heat treatment at 400-1300 degrees C, and second heat treating at 700-2800 degrees C.
