▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Forming graphene, comprises: flowing an inert gas through a chamber including graphite oxide (150) disposed in it under first reaction conditions to remove at least some oxygen from an atmosphere in the chamber; and exposing the graphite oxide in the chamber to hydrogen under second reaction conditions to form graphene. USE - The methods are useful for forming graphene and graphite oxide (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method utilizes a system which does not require: very high exfoliation temperature of 1000 degrees C and long exfoliation period of 5 hours; and hazardous solvents including hydrazine, which contaminate the environment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a system (100) to form graphene, comprising a chamber adapted to receive graphite oxide, where the chamber defines an atmosphere, a first source of an inert gas configured to be in communication with the chamber, a second source of hydrogen configured to be in communication with the chamber and a processor (180) configured to be in communication with the chamber, first source and second source, where the processor is configured to control the flow of the inert gas from the first source through the chamber under first reaction conditions to remove at least some oxygen from the atmosphere, and control the flow of the hydrogen from the second source to the graphite oxide in the chamber under second reaction conditions to form graphene from the graphite oxide; and (2) forming graphite oxide comprising combining graphite, sodium nitrate and potassium permanganate in sulfuric acid to produce a first combination, placing the first combination in a first container, placing the first container in a second container, where the second container includes ice water, stirring the first combination to produce a second combination, removing the first container from the second container, raising the temperature of the first container to 25-30 degrees C, adding distilled water to the second combination, stirring the distilled water and the second combination, adding water with a temperature of 60-70 degrees C to the distilled water and the second combination to produce a third combination, stirring the third combination, adding hydrogen peroxide to the third combination to produce a fourth combination, filtering the fourth combination to produce a filter cake (144), adding water to the filter cake to produce a fifth combination, spinning the fifth combination to produce a product and drying the product to produce the graphite oxide. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The figure shows a schematic view of the system to form graphene. System (100) Filter cake (144) Graphite oxide (150) Quartz boat (152) Processor (180)
