NOVELTY - Wound dressing material for supporting cells in the wound area for treating chronic wounds and for eliminating risk of infection development in open wounds, comprises graphene-based 2,3-dialdehyde bacterial cellulose. USE - The wound dressing material is useful for supporting cells in the wound area for treating chronic wounds and for eliminating risk of infection development in open wounds. ADVANTAGE - The graphene-based bacterial cellulose wound dressing appeals to a large market volume in the health sector. The production of bacterial cellulose is already being carried out on an industrial scale. Wound dressing materials with graphene content can be produced on an industrial scale by implementing the method developed as an alternative to the industrial production method utilized at present. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparing wound dressing material comprising graphene-based 2,3-dialdehyde bacterial cellulose for wound dressings that support cells in the wound area for the treatment of chronic wounds and that eliminates the risk of infection development in open wounds, which involves producing the bacterial cellulose and rendering it biodegradable (forming 2,3-dialdehyde groups), synthesizing graphene or graphene derivatives, loading the obtained bacterial cellulose membrane with graphene and graphene derivatives at 1-15 wt.%.
