NOVELTY - The preparation method of functional photocatalytic fiber involves adding ferric chloride and graphene oxide to nano-titanium dioxide hydrosol, stirring mixture, cooling, filtering, baking at high temperature to obtain functionalized nano-titanium dioxide powder, mixing functionalized nano-titanium dioxide powder, polyethylene dispersant and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) slice, melt-extruding, cooling in water bath, vacuum drying and then pelletizing, vacuum drying nano-titanium dioxide containing PET masterbatch and PET chips, melt spinning and stretching. USE - The method is useful for preparing functional photocatalytic fiber (claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The preparation method of functional photocatalytic fiber involves adding 5 g ferric chloride and 3 g graphene oxide to 1000 ml nano-titanium dioxide hydrosol, high-speed stirring the mixture at room temperature for 2 hours, cooling, filtering, baking at high temperature to obtain surface coated iron and graphene-functionalized nano-titanium dioxide powder, mixing 15-45 %mass functionalized nano-titanium dioxide powder, 1-2 %mass polyethylene dispersant with molecular weight of 2000 and 53-84 %mass polyethylene terephthalate (PET) slice in high-speed mixer, melt-extruding at 180-240 degrees C using an extruder, cooling in water bath, vacuum drying and then pelletizing to obtain functionalized nano-titanium dioxide containing PET masterbatch, vacuum drying 20-50 %mass nano-titanium dioxide containing PET masterbatch and 80-50 %mass PET chips for 1 hours, melt spinning at 280 degrees C and stretching. The graphene oxide has average thickness of 1.5 nm and average bulk density of 0.68 g/m3. The nano-titanium dioxide hydrosol is broad spectral response type and has average particle size of 2-3 nm. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for functional photocatalytic fiber obtained by the method.
