NOVELTY - The fine carbon fiber has diameter of less than 100 nm and comprises several cylindrical graphene in nest shape. The cross-sectional shape of right-angled cylindrical graphene is polygonal in length direction. USE - E.g. carbon nanotube and fullerene, used as filler for engineering plastics, as emitter for field-emission electron source used for electron-source built-in apparatus, as electroconductive material for electronic device, and for sensor (biosensor) and heat-dissipation element (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The fine carbon fiber has excellent electron emission characteristics, electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, mechanical characteristics, durability, chemical reactivity and biochemical reactivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) modification of fine carbon fiber; (2) field-emission electron source; (3) electron-source built-in apparatus; (4) heat-dissipation element; (5) electronic device; (6) engineering plastics; (7) sensor; and (8) biosensor.
