NOVELTY - A reformative dye-sensitized solar cell comprises a photo-anode comprising nano-sized semiconductor metal oxide coated over a conductive substrate and sensitized by a dye sensitizer, a counter electrode comprising a catalytic material coated over a conductive substrate and an electrolyte placed between the photo-anode and the counter electrode. USE - The reformative dye-sensitized solar cell is used for harnessing sunlight into power energy. ADVANTAGE - The dye-sensitized solar cell is economical and easy for fabrication, ensures environmental protection by waste management, and high conversion efficiency, and is alternative to silicon-based solar cells. The solar cell adopts sensitizer prepared from dangerous invasive plant Prosopis juliflora, which helps to get rid of such trees and enables easy eradication of such trees.
