NOVELTY - A cross-linkable binder composition comprises a polyacrylic acid polymer, a carboxyl-containing elastomer and a polyol crosslinking agent. The hydroxyl group in the polyol cross-linking agent and the carboxyl groups in the polyacrylic acid polymer and the elastomer reacts to generate ester group forming a cross-linked polymer. USE - Cross-linkable binder composition for cathode of lithium-ion battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The binder contains cross-linked polymer that has excellent strength and elasticity, and overcomes the influence of expansion and contraction. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) cathode active material slurry, which comprises active material comprising silicon cathode which is at least one of nano silicon powder, silicon oxide, silicon alloy and/or graphite which is at least one of natural graphite, artificial graphite, secondary granulated graphite in the weight ratio of 95-50:50, conductive agent and the cross-linkable binder composition in the weight ratio of 100:(0.1-10):(1-10); (2) cathode, which comprises a cathode current collector comprising at least one of light copper foil, carbon-coated copper foil and perforated copper foil, and the cathode active material layer formed by the cathode material slurry which comprises the cross-linkable binder; and (3) preparation of cathode.
