▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Glass or carbon fiber filled sheet molding compound (SMC) composition comprises graphene for providing improved Izod impact strength, flexural strength and tensile properties over an SMC composition without graphene as an additive. USE - The composition is useful for making the vehicle part (claimed) e.g. liftgate reinforcement panels, door panels, hoods, roof panels, pickup beds, bumpers, quarter panels, and fascia support members. ADVANTAGE - The composition: improves flexural strength, Izod impact strength and tensile properties by at least 30% over SMC compositions without graphene; has the flexural strength of 243-551 MPa, preferably 450-500 MPa, the Izod impact strength of 192-445 J/m, preferably 300-425 J/m, and the tensile properties of 198-400 MPa, preferably 260-300 MPa, or a flexural strength of 176-200 MPa, preferably 182-187 MPa, an Izod impact strength of 97-120 Kg/m2, preferably 98-100 Kg/m2, and the tensile strength properties of 83-130 MPa, preferably 84-88 MPa; allows manufacture of lightweight and robust structural and cosmetic vehicle parts; and improves mechanical properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a vehicle part (V1) made from a carbon fiber filled SMC composite material comprising a sheet molding composition including 0.05-1 wt.% graphene; (2) a vehicle part (V2) made of a glass filled SMC including 0.05-1 wt.% graphene; and (3) making the vehicle part comprising molding the part from the sheet molding composition containing 0.05-1 wt.% graphene material.
