NOVELTY - A core-shell structure (10) consists of core particles (12) comprising lithium-cobalt oxide, lithium-nickel-cobalt oxide, lithium-nickel-cobalt-manganese oxide, or lithium-nickel-cobalt-aluminum oxide, and an organic-inorganic composite layer (14) comprising a nitrogen-containing hyperbranched polymer and a lithium-containing linear polymer containing an ion-conductive segment or a modified Prussian blue containing ion-conductive groups as an ion-conductive material, covering the surface (12a) of the core particles. USE - Core-shell structure is used for forming electrode e.g. positive electrode plate of metal-ion battery (all claimed) e.g. lithium ion battery for electric motor vehicle. ADVANTAGE - The core-shell structure provides lithium ion battery with excellent cycle characteristics. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) metal-ion battery, which consists of a positive electrode plate comprising the core-shell structure, a negative electrode plate, and a separator arranged between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate; and (2) ion-conductive material, which comprises the lithium-containing linear polymer of formula (I).
