NOVELTY - A modified carbon nano fiber consists of a synthetic resin grafted onto the edge portion of a graphene sheet (1) provided in longitudinal surface of carbon nano fiber. USE - For resin composition and coating material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Since the modified carbon nano fiber has favorable dispersibility and stability in solvent, handleability of the fiber is improved. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) resin composition containing the modified carbon nano fiber dispersed in a resin; and (2) coating material containing the modified carbon nano fiber and a polymer, dispersed in a solvent. The difference of solubility parameter (SP) value of the polymer and SP value of the solvent, is less than 1.
