▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Infrared absorbing composition comprises at least one layer of metal carbides and nitrides (MXenes) material. USE - The composition is useful: in device; in layered structure as an infrared emitter/absorber; for preparing a surface to absorb infrared radiation (all claimed); and making coatings with low thermal emissivity. ADVANTAGE - The composition: flexible and frequency-selective 2-dimensional (2D) MXenes films/coatings with low infrared emissivity; involves the MXenes that are flexible and wearable devices than metals, owing to their 2D structure and exhibits higher capacitance and higher conductivity than multilayer solution processed graphene and can outperform graphene in active thermal camouflage as well; and acts as a filter that blocks (or attenuates) at least some of the infrared that comes from the emitting device. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a device comprising a substrate and the composition; (2) a layered structure configured for use as an infrared emitter/absorber comprising a reflecting layer having a first surface and a second surface, and an optical structure on the second surface of the reflecting layer having at least one partially transparent layer as well as at least one intermediate layer, where the partially transparent layer is located at a distance from the reflective layer, and the optical structure comprises the MXene material; and (3) preparing a surface to absorb infrared radiation comprising coating the surface with a coating comprising the composition.
