NOVELTY - A composite electrode comprises a silicon-graphene active material with a specific capacity of 500-3500 mAh/g, and a conductive polymer binder, where the conductive polymer binder has a polymeric composition with repeating units (I). USE - Composite electrode for use in a lithium-ion battery (claimed), that is utilized in electric vehicle, and hybrid electric vehicle. ADVANTAGE - The electrode exhibits reduced capacity fading of battery, and increased battery life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A composite electrode comprises a silicon-graphene active material with a specific capacity of 500-3500 mAh/g, and a conductive polymer binder, where the conductive polymer binder has a polymeric composition with repeating units of formula (I). n+m = 10-10 million, where n/m ratio is 9/1-1/9. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for preparing a composite electrode, which involves forming a solution of a solvent and a conductive polymer binder, adding a silicon-graphene active material to the solution to form a slurry, mixing the slurry to form a homogeneous mixture, depositing a thin film of obtained mixture over top of a substrate, and drying the resulting composite to form electrode.
