NOVELTY - Modified graphene-coated lithium nickel oxide cathode material comprises 50 pts. wt. graphene oxide, 40 pts. wt. lithium nickel oxide, 30 pts. wt. 45% ferric nitrate solution of lithium, 8 pts. wt. crystalline flake graphite and 8 pts. wt. adhesive material. USE - Modified graphene-coated lithium nickel oxide cathode material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The modified graphene-coated lithium nickel oxide cathode material overcomes the lithium-ion battery self-discharge problem, and improves storage time of lithium battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing modified graphene-coated lithium nickel oxide cathode material, which involves: (A) adding graphite and sodium nitrate in mass ratio of 2:1 with concentrated sulfuric acid on ice bath and then stirring the obtained material with nickel and potassium graphite; (B) mixing the stirred material at 20 degrees C for 1 hour and then heating the mixed material at 32-38 degrees C for 2 hours; (C) stirring the heated material with deionized water and then adding the stirred material with hydrogen peroxide; (D) washing, drying and heating the obtained material and then dispersing the heated material with ethanediol and carbon nanotubes; (E) stirring the dispersed material for 2 hours to obtain the graphene oxide and then dispersing the stirred material with mixed solvent of water or chloroform and acetone; (F) stirring the obtained material and then adding the stirred material with active material, functional material, conductive material and adhesive material; (G) stirring the obtained material and then adding the stirred material with doping acid to adjust pH value to 2-4; (H) adding the obtained material with ammonium sulfate aqueous solution of ferric chloride or chloroform and then stirring the obtained material for 24 hours; (I) subjecting the stirred material to perform centrifugal separation; and (J) washing and drying the obtained material at 60 degrees C and then grinding the dried material to obtain the desired product.
