NOVELTY - Preparing zinc paste gel comprises (i) adding cationic polyacrylamide and modified diatomite into distilled water, adding soluble starch, stirring at room temperature for 10-20 minutes, concentrating, drying, grinding, where the mass ratio of cationic polyacrylamide, modified diatomite and soluble starch is (0.8-1.3):(1-1.68):(0.69-0.88), (ii) freeze-drying the self-made composite gel in liquid nitrogen for 0.5-3 hours, vacuum drying at 40-45 degrees C for 3-6 hours, adding product obtained in step (i), and silicon dioxide into ball mill, grinding for 4-8 hours, discharging the gel, where the mass ratio of the self-made composite gel, product obtained in step (i), and silicon dioxide is (50-85):(20-30):(8-12). USE - The zinc paste gel is useful in alkaline zinc-manganese batteries.
