NOVELTY - Preparation of self-supporting porous air electrode material involves adding one or more inorganic metal compound containing zinc-based inorganic metal compound, cobalt-based inorganic metal compound and iron-based inorganic metal compound to a graphene oxide solution, adding dimethyl imidazole, stirring at normal temperature to mix uniformly, adding ascorbic acid into the mixed solution, stirring at normal temperature until the material is uniform, using equal volume dipping method, adding melamine foam into the material, extruding and absorbing under heating condition to react completely, obtaining uniform hydrogel, ion-exchanging the hydrogel with a mixed solution of ethanol and water, removing excess ascorbic acid and metal ions, drying the hydrogel after ion exchange to obtain a graphene aerogel containing metal complex, calcining the aerogel under inert gas atmosphere at high temperature, and cooling. USE - Preparation of self-supporting porous air electrode material used as cathode catalytic material for metal-air battery or renewable fuel cell (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method provides electrode material having excellent oxygen reduction catalytic performance.
