NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene-copper composite wire involves dissolving graphene oxide in a mixed solvent, adding polyvinylpyrrolidone or N-methylpyrrolidone, stirring, obtaining precursor liquid, immersing a copper strip in the precursor liquid, drying, placing the copper strip in a continuous atmosphere furnace, passing reducing gas, heating at 400-1000 degrees C and 20 degrees C/minute, reducing the furnace temperature to room temperature, obtaining graphene film-coated copper strip, winding the graphene film-coated copper strip on a copper rod, performing hot extrusion, and drawing. USE - Preparation of graphene-copper composite wire (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables efficient preparation of graphene-copper composite wire having excellent mechanical performance and conductivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene-copper composite wire involves dissolving graphene oxide as a precursor in a mixed solvent, adding 1 %mass polyvinylpyrrolidone or N-methylpyrrolidone as a stabilizer, stirring, obtaining precursor liquid, immersing a copper strip in the precursor liquid, drying the resultant copper strip at 120-150 degrees C, placing the copper strip in a continuous atmosphere furnace, connecting one end of the copper strip to a lead belt of the continuous atmosphere furnace, sealing the continuous atmosphere furnace, evacuating to 1 Pa, passing reducing gas, maintaining furnace pressure to 0.1 MPa, heating at 400-1000 degrees C and 20 degrees C/minute, reducing the furnace temperature to room temperature at 100 degrees C/minute, obtaining graphene film-coated copper strip, winding the graphene film-coated copper strip on a copper rod, placing in a copper sheath, obtaining a preassembly, performing hot extrusion at 500-750 degrees C for 0.5-2 hours under vacuum, obtaining graphene-copper composite wire with diameter of 15 mm or 25 mm, and drawing. The concentration of the graphene oxide in the precursor liquid is 0.5-5 mg/mL. The mixed solvent is prepared by mixing dimethylformamide with ethanol or water, and ethanol in volume ratio of 1:10.
