NOVELTY - The method of forming a negative electrode of a lithium-ion capacitor involves: inserting lithium to a specific potential by the galvanostatic discharge of the negative electrode of the lithium-ion capacitor, where the current range is 0.01-0. 5A/g; charging the negative electrode of the lithium-ion capacitor to a constant voltage at a specific potential until the current is 0.0 A; and testing the device testing and completing the formation operation. USE - Method of forming a negative electrode of a lithium-ion capacitor ADVANTAGE - At high overpotential, compared with the traditional low current density cyclic charge-discharge formation, the formed SEI of the capacitor can reduce the self-discharge potential of the negative electrode by 29.5% for 120 hours, and the cycle life is increased by 3.8%. The chemical formation method uses constant current and constant voltage charging and discharging, does not increase additional heating and pressurizing operations, avoids equipment and operating costs, and is beneficial to practical operations. The chemical formation method does not need to use electrolyte additives, thus reducing the material cost. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic flow chart of forming a negative electrode of a lithium-ion capacitor. (Drawing includes non-English language text).
