NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide comprises preparing graphite oxide by performing oxidized intercalation for flaky graphite or highly oriented pyrolytic graphite through Hummers method or Staudenmaier method; dissolving dried graphite oxide powder into deionized water to prepare graphite oxide water solution; placing in a cold storage until completely frozen; taking out the frozen graphite oxide water solution; unfreezing at room temperature; and drying graphene oxide water solution. USE - Preparation of graphene oxide (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method avoids environmental pollution; is beneficial to environment protection and convenient for large-scale production; has simple technique; peels off graphite oxide completely; and provides little damage to graphite sheet layer. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene oxide comprises: (A) preparing graphite oxide by performing oxidized intercalation for flaky graphite or highly oriented pyrolytic graphite through Hummers method or Staudenmaier method; and controlling the space between the layers of graphite oxide at 0.6-1.0 nm; (B) preparing graphite oxide water solution by dissolving dried graphite oxide powder into deionized water; and stirring for 20-60 minutes to prepare graphite oxide water solution with concentration of 0.1-10 mg/ml; (C) freezing by placing not less than 10 ml graphite oxide water solution in a cold storage at not greater than 0 degrees C for not less than 60 minutes until completely frozen; (D) taking out the frozen graphite oxide water solution; unfreezing at room temperature; and obtaining graphene oxide water solution; and (E) drying the graphene oxide water solution for 8-12 hours in vacuum oven of 60-80 degrees C to obtain graphene oxide.
