NOVELTY - Preparation of brominated-intercalated graphene, involves mixing sodium myristate with ethanol, heating, saponifying to obtain alcohol (I), adding thiol and bromoethane to dimethylformamide, heating to obtain bromide solution, mixing ricinoleic acid and alcohol (I) with graphene, esterifying, mixing esterified mixture, dimethyl sulfate, poly(vinyl alcohol) and lithium hydroxide with tetrahydrofuran, heating, stirring to obtain mixture (II), mixing obtained bromide solution with mixture (II), filtering to obtain precipitate, drying and cooling. USE - Preparation of brominated-intercalated graphene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of brominated-intercalated graphene with high strength, excellent toughness and stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of brominated-intercalated graphene, involves mixing 2-3 pts. wt. sodium myristate with 5-7 pts. wt. absolute ethanol, heating at 60-65 degrees C for 10-14 minutes, saponifying to obtain alcohol (I), adding 0.4-1 pt. wt. 2-benzimidazolethiol and 0.1-0.3 pt. wt. bromoethane to 10-18 pts. wt. dimethylformamide, heating at 50-60 degrees C for 3-4 hours to obtain bromide solution, mixing 2,7-4 pts. wt. ricinoleic acid with 10-17 pts. wt. graphene, heating at 70-80 degrees C for 1-2 hours, mixing with alcohol (I), stirring, heating at 90-95 degrees C for 2-3 hours, cooling to room temperature, esterifying, mixing esterified mixture, 1-2 pts. wt. dimethyl sulfate and 0.1-0.2 pt. wt. lithium hydroxide with tetrahydrofuran, heating at 40-50 degrees C for 3-4 hours to obtain mixture (I), adding 5-7 pts. wt. poly(vinyl alcohol) to mixture (I), heating at 50-60 degrees C, stirring for 10-20 minutes to obtain mixture (II), mixing obtained bromide solution with mixture (II), ultrasonically processing for 3-4 hours, filtering to obtain precipitate, washing precipitate, drying at 80-90 degrees C for 1-2 hours and cooling to room temperature.
