NOVELTY - Producing Janus graphene sponge, comprises: reacting mixture comprising oxidized graphene solution and ascorbic acid solution to form reduced oxidized graphene and forming a self-assembly of the reduced oxidized graphene at the same time; lyophilizing the reduced self-assembly of oxidized graphene to form a graphene sponge; functionalizing one side of the graphene sponge with hydrophobic-lipophilic functional group and wrapping the functionalized portion with acrylic; and functionalizing the other side of the graphene sponge with hydrophilic-lipophilic functional group and wrapping the functionalized portion with acrylate. USE - The sponge is useful as filter for separating water-oil. ADVANTAGE - The sponge has high pore size and large surface area by having a three-dimensional structure. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for Janus graphene sponge prepared by the above method, having a three-dimensional structure with fine pores and containing hydrophobic-lipophilic and hydrophilic-lipophilic functional groups.
