NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene-coated rare earth doped nano-oxide, involves adding graphene oxide to aqueous solution of zirconium oxychloride while adding salicylic acid, mixing and dispersing by magnetically stirring, adding lactic acid solution to zirconia-containing zirconium oxychloride solution to adjust structure of zirconia, adding the obtained solution to rare earth inorganic salt solution, adjusting the pH of the obtained solution with sodium hydroxide solution, heating, centrifuging, filtering, washing with distilled water and absolute ethanol, drying, grinding and calcining. USE - Preparation of graphene-coated rare earth doped nano-oxide used for forming thin film on surface of various components. ADVANTAGE - The graphene-coated rare earth doped nano-oxide is prepared at low cost by a simple method. The graphene-coated rare earth doped nano-oxide has little effect on the performance of the matrix itself, and does not damage the matrix so as to have the workpiece with special surface function. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene-coated rare earth doped nano-oxide, involves (i) dissolving zirconium oxychloride octahydrate in deionized water to prepare 0.2-0.5 mol/L aqueous solution of zirconium oxychloride, (ii) adding graphene oxide to the prepared solution while adding 3 mol/L salicylic acid, mixing and dispersing by magnetically stirring, (iii) dissolving rare earth inorganic salt in deionized water and forming a solution of 0.01-0.07 mol/L, (iv) adding lactic acid solution to the zirconia-containing zirconium oxychloride solution obtained in step (ii) to adjust the structure of zirconia, (v) adding the solution prepared in the step (iii) to the solution obtained in the step (iv), (vi) preparing sodium hydroxide solution with concentration of 10 mol/L for pH titration and adjusting the pH of the solution obtained in step (v) to 4-8, (vii) adding the reaction liquid into a closed container, heating at 160-180 degrees C for 24-48 hours, (viii) taking out the reaction solution after the completion of reaction, centrifuging at 2000 rpm for 10 minutes to settle, filtering out to obtain a white precipitate, and washing with distilled water and absolute ethanol, (ix) drying the precipitate obtained in step (viii) at 80 degrees C, grinding, and placing in a sealed alumina crucible, calcining in an atmosphere of 600-800 degrees C to obtain graphene-coated rare earth doped nano-zirconium dioxide powder.
