NOVELTY - Producing a graphene-solution comprises reducing graphite with an alkali metal salt in a polar organic solvent USE - The process is useful for producing graphene-solution and graphene alkali metal salt. The graphene-solution is useful for producing a composite material (all claimed), which is useful in thermally and/or electrically conductive products such as batteries, capacitors, paints, coatings and catalysts. ADVANTAGE - The process does not utilize toxic, expensive and environmentally hazardous substances, and provides graphene-solution with high yield and purity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) the graphene solution, obtained by the above process, comprising polyaromatic compound and an alkali metal dissolved in a polar organic solvents; (2) a process for preparing graphene alkali metal salt by evaporation of the polar organic solvent of the graphene solution; (3) graphene alkali metal salt, obtained by the above process; (4) a process for preparing purified graphene solution comprising dissolving the graphene alkali metal salt in an aprotic organic solvent; (5) the purified graphene solution obtained by the above process; (6) a process for producing a composite material comprising adding a further substance to the graphene solution and/or purified graphene solution and further processing the solution to composite material; and (7) the composite material obtained by the above process.
