▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - The method involves laminating a perpendicular magnetic layer (23) and a protective layer (24) on a nonmagnetic substrate (20). Gas of a raw material containing carbon is introduced into a pressure-reduced film-forming chamber interior. The gas is ionized by discharge between filament-form cathode and anode electrodes. The ionized gas is accelerated and formed in the nonmagnetic substrate by irradiating to surface of the perpendicular magnetic layer. A laminated portion of a graphene and a protective layer containing amorphous carbon are formed in surface of perpendicular magnetic layer. USE - Method for manufacturing perpendicular magnetic recording medium. ADVANTAGE - The abrasion resistance, the slide-resistance and the corrosion resistance are increased. The wettability with respect to the lubrication agent of the protective layer at the time of forming the lubrication layer can be improved without reducing crystallinity of the laminated portion of graphene. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus of perpendicular magnetic recording medium.
