NOVELTY - A mercapto-based functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode preparation method involves preparing mercapto-based functionalized graphene by preparing graphene oxide, subjecting the graphene oxide to an acid reaction to prepare functionalized graphene, subjecting the functionalized graphene to thionyl chloride chlorination reaction, and adding a mercapto reagent with the obtained product. The mercapto-based functionalized graphene is dispersed in solution. The obtained solution is coated on a mirror surface of a glassy carbon electrode and dried to obtain a finished product. USE - Method for preparing a mercapto-based functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode that is utilized for detecting trace amount of cadmium ions. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparing the mercapto-based functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode with high sensitivity and low detection limit. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A mercapto-based functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode preparation method involves preparing mercapto-based functionalized graphene by preparing graphene oxide using Hummer method and IM sodium hydroxide return process, subjecting the graphene oxide to an acid reaction under an alkaline condition to prepare functionalized graphene, adding hydrazine hydrate with the functionalized graphene, subjecting the functionalized graphene to thionyl chloride chlorination reaction, and adding a mercapto reagent with the obtained product. The prepared mercapto-based functionalized graphene is ultrasonically dispersed in a 0.1-1 mg/ml solution. 3-15 mu l obtained solution is coated on a polished mirror surface of a glassy carbon electrode. The electrode is dried at room temperature to obtain a finished product.
