NOVELTY - Manufacture of carbon-type luminescent material involves mixing and heating a raw material comprising polyhydric carboxylic acid and a nitrogen atom-containing heterocyclic compound, an acidic catalyst, and a solvent, manufacturing carbon-type luminescent material capable of emitting a light having wavelength of more than 500 nm using an excitation light having a wavelength of 250-600 nm, and oxidation-treating carbon-type luminescent material using an oxidizing agent. USE - Manufacture of carbon-type luminescent material used for forming graphene quantum dots for light-emitting component. ADVANTAGE - The method enables manufacture of carbon-type luminescent material with excellent green or red light-emitting property. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method for expanding Stokes shift of carbon-type luminescent material, which involves processing the carbon-type luminescent material using an aromatic ring-containing compound containing two more or more amino groups or iodination agent.
