▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - The apparatus has an electrochemical cell that is provided with a cathode and an anode. The area of the cathode which comes into contact with the polluted waste water is covered by a graphene layer having a nano-porous structure, when in use. The graphene layer over the cathode has a thickness between 2nm and 70 mu . The pore size of the graphene layer ranges from 1 nm to 10 nm. The coating layer is attached to metal plate or three-dimensional graphene foam. A protective layer arranged over the cathode is located between the graphene layer and the cathode. USE - Apparatus for conducting electro-Fenton reaction for decomposing organic, aromatic, chemical compounds in polluted waste water from various industries. ADVANTAGE - The electro-Fenton reaction is confined in the cathode chamber and all of the precipitation is discharged from the common outlet. The toxic gas is collected and absorbed in wet scrubbers of the system. The Joule heat is dramatically reduced and the electrical energy is used at a much higher efficiency to produce organic precipitation as in electro-Fenton system without the graphene layer over the cathode. The graphene layer dramatically reduces the electrical resistance on the cathode, thus the Joule heat is reduced significantly and noticeably improves the reaction efficiency. The nano-porous graphene layer over the cathode produces hydrogen peroxide, continuously providing the reagent for the electro-Fenton reaction, resulting in a drop of costs on hydrogen peroxide by up to 80%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a system for cleaning polluted waste water from organic chemical compounds; and (2) a method for conducting electro-Fenton reaction in the apparatus for decomposing organic, aromatic, chemical compounds in polluted waste water.
