NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene quantum dots involves placing graphite nanoparticles in liquid chosen from single solvent, mixed solvent and water-containing surfactant, ultrasonically processing, centrifuging and filtering. USE - Preparation of graphene quantum dots used in gas-sensitive sensor, photoelectron, memory storage device and photocatalyst device. ADVANTAGE - The method efficiently provides graphene quantum dots with high productivity under mild reaction condition, without affecting the environment.
