NOVELTY - Preparing graphene comprises adding expanded graphite in water, carrying out ultrasonic dispersion treatment to obtain graphene suspension having a concentration of 1-20 mg/ml, then adding 1-500 g/l of potassium hydroxide into obtained graphene suspension, uniformly stirring to obtain a mixed solution of potassium hydroxide and graphene suspension, filtering the mixed solution, screening, drying the filtrate in muffle furnace, and calcining at high temperature under an inert atmosphere, cooling, washing with water, filtering and then drying. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The simple method is capable of preparing graphene with high specific surface area in a cost effective manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the graphene obtained by the method.
