NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide complex sponge comprises (i) washing polyurethane sponge to obtain clean polyurethane sponge, and (ii) dispersing the graphene oxide in water to obtain oxidation an aqueous solution of graphene, where the concentration of the aqueous graphene oxide solution is 2-10 mg/ml, (iii) immersing the cleaned polyurethane sponge in an aqueous solution of graphene oxide, and taking out drying treatment to obtain graphene oxide polyurethane sponge, and (iv) oxidizing graphene polyurethane sponge is immersed in an aqueous solution of 1-20 vol.% ethanol, where the immersion time is not less than 10 hours, and subjecting to secondary drying treatment. USE - The graphene oxide complex sponge is useful for adsorbing organic contaminants in sewage, preferably phenol (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene oxide complex sponge has high adsorption capacity.
