NOVELTY - Hydrogel sphere algicide comprises 1000-1500 pts. wt. sodium alginate and 200-600 pts. wt. graphene oxide. The algicide is prepared adding sodium alginate into deionized water, stirring the mixture with magnetic force until sodium alginate is completely dissolved, thus preparing 2-3 (weight/volume)% solution, and adding graphene oxide to the solution. USE - As hydrogel sphere algicide. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method for preparing the hydrogel sphere algicide, which involves (a) adding sodium alginate into deionized water, stirring the mixture with magnetic force until sodium alginate is completely dissolved, thus preparing 2-3 (weight/volume)% solution, (b) subsequently adding graphene oxide and an allelochemical substance gallic acid, and uniformly mixing using an ultrasonic assistance oscillation method, thus preparing dispersing liquid, (c) dropping the dispersing liquid into 5-10% calcium chloride solution using a burette to obtain calcium gel spheres, maintaining the spheres for 1-2 hours, (d) repeatedly washing with deionized water, and maintaining to remove residues on the surface, and (e) drying product in vacuum oven.
