NOVELTY - An abrasive component comprises a mixture of a polymer and an abrasive. The polymer is formed of a thermosetting polymer or a heat-resistant polymer. The abrasive component is used when polishing a workpiece by a blasting method. USE - Abrasive component used for processing surface of workpiece for cleaning scale or remove the mill scale of cast products, hot forging or hot rolled products and mirror polishing. ADVANTAGE - The abrasive component has improved electroconductivity and bonding strength between abrasive and polymer and effect of allowing sufficient impact energy to be applied to the workpiece even when the size of the abrasive particles is small by adding high-density material having higher density per unit volume than the polymer and the abrasive. Even if the abrasive is dispersed and arranged inside the polymer, and the surface of the abrasive component is worn, the dispersed abrasive is gradually exposed and has the effect of maintaining the same polishing function.
