USE - Process and coating formulations for cross-linked poly (Graphene Oxide-urethane-amide) on armors to improve performance of ballistic Materials, armor metals/metal alloys, ceramic surface, composites, fabrics (UD fabric, woven, non-woven), polymeric sheets, films. ADVANTAGE - The lightweight polymeric coatings have been widely adopted to improve the ballistic properties of armors. Moreover, reinforcing inorganic fillers are also used in the coating along with polymer matrices to improve the mechanical strength and impact resistance of the armors. Here, dispersion and interfacial interactions between the reinforcing fillers, polymer matrices and substrate are vital to achieve the improved coatings. Hence, main objective of the proposed invention is to introduce chemical covalence between substrate, polymer matrix and reinforcing filler by developing cross-linked poly (graphene oxide-urethane-amide) coating using one- pot synthetic protocol involving graphene oxide and isocyanate monomer. The developed coatings on armors are extensively characterized for structural, morphological, mechanical and physicochemical properties. The coating was found to pass solvent rub and scratch test with the classification 4B and Vickers Hardness number of 20.0 Hv for a 100 g applied load. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the product comprising an armor substrate, GO and polymeric binder can be subjected and found suitable to threat levels I, II, III and IV as per NIJ 0101.06 and FSP as per STANAG 2920 and 4569, NATO, AEP 55, IS 17051:2018, VPAM, GOST, IS 17435, IS 17525, NIJ 0108.01, NIJ 0101.07, HP white testing procedure, HOSB Body Armor Standards, European Ballistic Standards with BFS in the range of 7 to 17 mm.
