NOVELTY - A carbon coated aluminum foil preparation method involves dissolving graphene composite containing acetylenic bond or derivative monomer in organic solvent, placing aluminum foil as substrate and copper foil in reaction solution, such that monomer containing acetylenic bond is uniformly deposited on surface of the aluminum foil, under copper catalysis and certain conditions, washing and drying obtained product. USE - Method for preparing carbon coated aluminum foil that is utilized as current collector or electrode material and in energy storage device e.g. metal-ion battery or supercapacitor, where the aluminum foil is directly utilized in the energy storage device, crushed form or other forms and the metal is selected from lithium, sodium, potassium, aluminum, magnesium, calcium, zinc, cadmium, nickel or cobalt (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparing carbon coated aluminum foil with stable structure and suitability for improving capacity and cycle performance of energy storage device and reducing corrosion of aluminum foil surface during electrochemical reaction in a simple manner under controlled conditions.
