NOVELTY - Producing graphene quantum dots of core-shell structure, comprises (a) mixing graphene quantum dot solution and liquid capping agent by dissolving graphene quantum dots in organic solvent, removing solvent of quantum dot solution by heating at first temperature, and coating the surface of the graphene quantum dots with capping agent, and (b) mixing at second temperature while injecting solution of group 2-6 element compound semiconductor. USE - The graphene quantum dots are useful in light emitting electrical elements (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method produces graphene quantum dots having improved quantum yield and solubility. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for graphene quantum dots of core-shell structure comprising graphene quantum dots, group 2-6 element compound semiconductor for formed with the shell structure and core of graphene quantum dots, and ligand attached to the outer surface of the compound semiconductor shell.
