NOVELTY - The cathode electrode comprises a cathode active material-coated graphene sheet, and a carbon or graphite material. The graphene sheet has two opposed parallel surfaces, where area (80%) of one of the two surfaces is coated with a cathode active material. The amount of graphene material is 0.1-99.5 wt.%. The amount of cathode active material is 0.5 wt.%. The coated graphene sheet contains 90 wt.% or vol.% of the cathode active material. The graphene material comprises single-layer or less than 10 graphene planes. The cathode active material coating has a thickness of less than 20 nm. USE - The cathode electrode is useful for a lithium battery (claimed) such as a lithium sulfur battery or a lithium ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The cathode electrode improves internal resistance, charge-discharge characteristics, capacity, cycle life, thermal conductivity, heat dissipation rate and reliability of the battery.
