NOVELTY - Removing pesticides from contaminated water, comprises contacting the water with reduced graphene oxide (RGO) and/or graphene oxide (GO). USE - The method is useful for removing pesticides from contaminated water such as ground water, industrial water or municipal water, where the pesticide includes organochlorine, organophosphate, organocarbomate, biopesticides and/or synthetic pyrethroid and the contaminant includes insecticides, fungicides, weedicides and rodenticide (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is capable of economically removing the pesticides from the contaminated water with high efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) regenerating pesticide loaded RGO and/or GO comprising contacting the loaded RGO and/or GO with organic solvents, preferably ethanol; and (2) a water treatment medium.
