NOVELTY - Preparing highly stable platinum carbon catalyst, comprises (i) preparing aqueous chloroplatinic acid solution, then adding organic ligands and stirring evenly to obtain organic ligand containing chloroplatinic acid solution, introducing on carbon carrier by equal impregnation method, and drying to obtain ligand-stabilized carbon-supported platinum catalyst precursor i.e. platinum-ligand-carbon (Pt L-C), and (ii) mixing the ligand-stabilized carbon-supported platinum catalyst precursor and heteroatom-containing organic carbon source solid powder by solid-phase ball milling at room temperature under an inert atmosphere, carrying out pyrolysis by heat treatment to obtain pyrolyzed catalyst, and activating the pyrolyzed catalyst in a chlorine-containing atmosphere to obtain final product i.e. carbon-supported platinum chloride catalyst (NC-PtClx-C). USE - The highly stable platinum carbon catalyst is useful in producing vinyl chloride by calcium carbide acetylene process (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The highly stable platinum carbon catalyst: has excellent catalytic stability and excellent service life compared with existing catalyst; and realizes industrial application in producing vinyl chloride monomer. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for highly stable platinum carbon catalyst prepared by above method.
