NOVELTY - The electromechanical sensor (100) comprises an elastic carrier(102) that is arranged to extend when subjected to an external mechanical load. A sensing sheath (104) is arranged at least partially around and along the elastic carrier. The sensing sheath is provided with an electrically resistive element of the first electrical resistance operable to change upon a change of a dimension of the elastic carrier. The change of the electrical resistance is represented mechanical strain subjected by the electromechanical sensor. The elastic carrier is provided with an elongated shape of one or more yarns or filaments. The elastic carrier is arranged to retract upon a release of at least a portion of the external mechanical load. The elastic carrier is provided with a first polymer and polyurethane.
