NOVELTY - Preparing copper catalyst comprises dissolving copper-containing precursor and base metal auxiliary agent in solvent, stirring to make it mixing uniformly at 20-30 degrees C, dropping mixed solution to porous solid carrier, and under action of the high voltage pulse electric field, using equal volume dipping method, dipping for 8-15 hours, drying for 8-24 hours at 40-110 degrees C to obtain the copper catalyst, where base metal auxiliary agent is metal salt of bismuth, barium, iron, manganese, zinc, potassium, calcium, tin and/or nickel. USE - The copper catalyst is useful in reaction of acetylene hydrochlorination to synthesize vinyl chloride (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method: improves activity of catalyst, and maintain stability in long-term reaction process.
