NOVELTY - Nickel-graphene hydrogenation catalyst comprises 10-25 wt.% nickel nanoclusters having size of 2-5 nm, deposited on carbon nanoparticles, as carrier which contains reduced graphite oxide. USE - Used as a nickel-graphene hydrogenation catalyst. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the nickel-graphene hydrogenation catalyst, comprising dispersing an aqueous solution of nickel(II) acetate in an aqueous suspension of graphite oxide to obtain an aqueous dispersion of graphite oxide-nickel(II) acetate, freeze-drying the aqueous dispersion of graphite oxide-nickel(II) acetate, followed by simultaneous reduction of graphite oxide and nickel(II) acetate by hydrogen at 300-500 degrees C.
