▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Treated plastic particles are prepared from waste plastic by combining waste plastic particles with bio-oil to yield a mixture; and irradiating the mixture with microwave radiation to yield oil-treated plastic particles. USE - Preparation of treated plastic particles from waste plastic for modified binder for use in concrete composition or asphalt composition (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The plastic granules are treated using a bio-oil and a carbon coating to compatibilize the plastic granules with asphalt binder to both promote resource conservation and enhance pavement performance. The treated plastic particles renders the binder less susceptible to moisture. A binder containing the treated plastic particles has increased resistance to fatigue cracking compared to a binder with non-treated plastic. Low-temperature properties are also improved for binders with treated plastic relative to binders with non-treated plastic. The treated plastic particles enhance toughness and reduce shrinkage and cracking, while retaining moisture to improve internal curing., and can enhance fatigue life and self-healing capacity of pavements to extend pavement service life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) preparation of modified binder which involves combining hybrid-treated plastic particles with binder to yield the modified asphalt binder, where binder comprises concrete binder or asphalt binder, and modified binder comprises 5-25 wt.% hybrid-treated plastic particles; and (2) hybrid-treated plastic particle comprising plastic particle having a bio-oil modified surface and coating comprising carbon-containing nanoparticles on the bio-oil modified surface of the plastic particle.
