▎ 摘 要

NOVELTY - Converting propane to propene comprises contacting propane with a catalytically active surface-modified graphene oxide or graphite oxide or a catalytically active carbocatalyst to provide propene. USE - The process is useful for converting propane to propene. ADVANTAGE - The process manufactures high value commodities such as low molecular weight hydrocarbons while avoiding the industry's reliance on petroleum, which is a dwindling natural resource. The process has reduced numbers of steps, thus reducing cost of goods and manufacturing services. The process provides propene in an economical manner without any by-product formation or industrial waste. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) converting propane to propene under kinetic control, comprising contacting propane with a catalytically active surface-modified graphene oxide or graphite oxide at a reduced temperature compared to a temperature which is used for the conversion of propane to propene in the presence of a catalyst, which is not a catalytically active surface-modified graphene oxide or graphite oxide or a catalytically active carbocatalyst; (2) the propene prepared by the above processes; (3) a reaction vessel comprising either the starting materials, the product and the catalytically active surface-modified graphene oxide or graphite oxide, or propane, propene and a catalytically active surface modified graphene oxide or graphite oxide; and (4) a catalytically active surface-modified graphene oxide or graphite oxide in contact with propane and propene.
