NOVELTY - A negative electrode plate comprises a current collector, a carbon material coating formed on at least one portion of the surface of the current collector, and sodium metal layer formed on at least one portion of the surface of the carbon material coating away from the current collector layer. The carbon material coating has a thickness of less than or equal to 10 μm, and comprises a carbon material comprising oxygen-containing group with oxygen atom content of greater than or equal to 0.1%, and a polymer binder. USE - The negative electrode plate is useful for sodium-ion battery used in electrochemical device and electronic device (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The negative electrode plate effectively inhibits the sodium metal layer to form dendritic crystal in the electrochemical cycle process, and improves the cycle performance of the sodium-ion battery. The carbon material coating can effectively reduce the over-potential of sodium metal deposition, inhibit the formation of sodium dendrite crystal, and improve the dynamic performance of sodium ion nucleation in sodium-ion battery. During discharging, metal sodium can be converted into sodium ions and returned to the positive electrode to achieve cyclic charging and discharging.
