▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Elastomeric masterbatch comprises (a) graphite and (b) an elastomer, where the elastomer is dispersed between exfoliated layers of graphite, and the weight ratio of the graphite to the elastomer is 5:80-20:95. USE - The elastomeric masterbatch is used in a rubber compound and an article (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The elastomeric masterbatch does not involve any additional purification or drying process or use of any dispersing or surface-active agents, reduces the cost of manufacture, is economically feasible in various compounds such as tires, enhances usefulness of graphene as a reinforcing filler in different rubber compounds, and is cost-effective. The rubber compounds have improved properties such as reduced heat build-up, air permeability and improved mechanical strength, thermal and electrical conductivity, hardness, wet grip, impact strength, lateral stiffness of the rubber compound, without much increase in the cost of the compound. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: a process for preparing the elastomeric masterbatch comprising (a) extruding graphite with an elastomer at a temperature of 70-140° C with kneading block of 10-50% and at a speed of 250-750 rpm to obtain the elastomeric masterbatch; a rubber compound comprising (i) 70-100 phr rubber, (ii) 1-35 phr elastomeric masterbatch, (iii) 40-50 phr at least one carbon black, (iv) 0.01-15 phr first additive, and (v) 0.05-8 phr second additive, where the rubber compound comprises 0.2-5 phr graphene; and a process for preparing the rubber compound comprising obtaining the elastomeric masterbatch, mixing the elastomeric masterbatch with the rubber, the at least one carbon black and the first additive to obtain a first mixture, and adding the second additive to the first mixture to obtain the rubber compound.
