NOVELTY - Negative electrode material comprises an inner core (1) and a coating layer on the surface of the inner core. The inner core includes a negative electrode matrix material, and the coating layer includes a doped conductive agent (2) and amorphous carbon (3). The doped conductive agent includes a nitrogen-doped conductive agent and/or a transition metal-doped conductive agent. USE - Negative electrode material for lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The negative electrode material has surface which is coated with a doped conductive agent and amorphous carbon, so that the negative electrode material has excellent electrical conductivity, and improves its rate and cycle performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a preparation method of the negative electrode material, which involves mixing and dispersing the conductive agent, dopant and solvent, and carbonizing to obtain the doped conductive agent, then mixing the negative electrode matrix material, the doped conductive agent and the binder, granulating, and carbonizing to obtain the negative electrode material, where dopant includes nitrogen-containing compounds and/or transition metal oxides.
