NOVELTY - Preparing modified phenolic resin, comprises (a) mixing alumina sol and zirconia sol uniformly to obtain mixed sol, slowly adding modified phenolic prepolymer to the mixed sol, continuously stirring for 2-3 hours, slowly raising the temperature to 80-85 degrees C under vacuum, stirring at constant temperature for 2-3 hours to obtain mixed material, (b) mixing the mixed material, tall oil, tung oil and polyamine catalyst in a reaction kettle, heating to 135-145 degrees C and reacting for 3-4 hours to obtain phenolic slurry, (c) adding hydrogenated castor oil into the phenolic slurry and silane coupling agent modified graphene oxide, slowly raising the temperature to 220-230 degrees C, stirring for 30-40 minutes, adding esterification catalyst, stirring and raising the temperature to 260-265 degrees C, stirring and reacting at constant temperature for 6-8 hours, and (d) vacuum drying the obtained product for 3-4 hours at 0-85 degrees C to obtain modified phenolic resin. USE - The resin is useful in preparing ablation-resistant material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The modified phenolic resin has high heat resistance, high residual carbon rate, high strength, and excellent toughness.
