NOVELTY - Sulfur-magnesium oxide-graphite electrode material comprises 45-70 wt.% nano-sulfur electrode material, 3-25 wt.% nano magnesium oxide and graphene (balance). USE - The sulfur-magnesium oxide-graphite electrode material is useful for lithium-sulfur battery. ADVANTAGE - The sulfur-magnesium oxide-graphite electrode material: utilizes cheap raw materials; and has simple preparation technique. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing sulfur-magnesium oxide-graphite electrode material, comprising (1) under argon gas or vacuum condition, heating metal magnesium powder to 700-900 degrees C, and burning with carbon dioxide gas at gas flow rate of 50-100 ml/minute to obtain crude product, (2) adding the crude product based on solid-liquid ratio of 1:6-43 ml into 1-6 M hydrochloric acid solution and magnetic stirring for 1-10 hours, filtering, washing using deionized water until pH reaches to 7-8, then drying to obtain nano magnesium oxide/graphene composite material, and (3) mixing the nano magnesium oxide/graphene composite material and nano-sulfur powder in a molar ratio of 0.4-1.2:1, then subjecting to heat treatment at 130-180 degrees C for 9-15 hours under argon gas atmosphere, and naturally cooling to obtain final product.
