NOVELTY - Multi-level structural composite material comprises carbon tube-sulfur composite material. The carbon tube-sulfur composite material is formed by loading the carbon tube with elemental sulfur. The carbon tube is carbon with a hollow tubular structure, and the tube wall of the hollow tubular structure is a porous structure. The surface of the carbon tube-sulfur composite material is coated with a layer of two-dimensional nanosheet. The two-dimensional nanosheet is single-layer or multi-layered lamellar compound. USE - Multi-level structural composite material used as positive electrode material in metal-sulfur battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The multi-level structural composite material can improve the utilization rate of sulfur, promote the rapid transport of ions/electrons, and suppress the shuttle effect of the metal-sulfur battery through the dual effects of physical confinement and chemical adsorption to maximize the electrochemical performance of the battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: 1. a method for preparing a multi-level structure composite material, which involves: (a) compounding fully a carbon tube with sulfur, preparing a carbon tube-sulfur composite material after heat treatment; (b) dispersing carbon tube-sulfur composite material in a surfactant solution; (c) modifying surface of the carbon tube-sulfur composite material; (d) dropping dispersion of two-dimensional nanosheet; (e)coating the two-dimensional nanosheet on the surface of the carbon tube-sulfur to obtain multi-level structure composite material; and 2. an application of the multi-level structure composite material or the multi-level structure composite material obtained by the preparation method as a positive electrode material in a metal-sulfur battery.
