NOVELTY - A liquid crystal elastomer composite material comprises nanocarbon material as filler, and thermotropic liquid crystal elastomer in the weight ratio of 0.02-3:100. The nanocarbon material is graphene, graphene oxide or carbon nanotubes. USE - Liquid crystal elastomer composite material is used for optical actuator. ADVANTAGE - The liquid crystal elastomer composite material improves response speed, deformation caused by thermal shrinkage, and output characteristics of the actuator. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of liquid crystal elastomer composite material, which involves adding carbon nanomaterial into organic solvent and ultrasonically treating to obtain dispersion with concentration of 0.01-1 mg/mL, then adding liquid crystal monomer, crosslinking agent and photoinitiator in the molar ratio of 90:5-10:0.2-1, continuously stirring uniformly, spin-coating obtained dispersion liquid on a glass substrate or polytetrafluoroethylene substrate, then slowly heating coated substrate at 90-130 degrees C for 5-20 minutes under light-shielding and nitrogen atmosphere, cooling the substrate to 75-100 degrees C, irradiating light at 250-800 nm for 5-20 minutes, further heating the irradiated substrate at 85-110 degrees C for 5-20 minutes, and obtaining film-like liquid crystal elastomer composite material. The liquid crystal monomer is acrylic ester liquid crystal monomer, vinyl aromatic ester liquid crystal monomer, vinyl azobenzene liquid crystal monomer or vinyl biphenyl liquid crystal monomer.
